Distant Thunder
by Foxy, published by Sweatdrop Studios

Genre: Fantasy/Anthropomorphic
There are 2 issues available. Initial release: Issue 1: 2005, Issue 2: 2006

Plot

A couple of ragtag rascal catgirls are mistaken for mystical heroes and must fight an impending doom…

A simple plot is used to good effect to introduce lots of crazy antics, jokes and parodies - don't expect anything heavy, just enjoy the fun ^^

The Characters

The characters are easily recognisable if you know your fantasy - a fighter, a thief, a witch, a somewhat dodgy cleric, and several other amusing side characters.

Artwork

Photo montage is used to good effect on the colour covers of the 2 issues - they stand out well and are instantly recognisable. However, those who are not into this technique may not find the covers as appealing.

The inking is in a semi-woodblock style, using different line thicknesses well - the style suits the olde worlde fantasy backdrop. There are some minor hiccups in the characters' anatomy and proportions, but in general the drawing shows a definite personal style, and is often very cute.

Random Really Cool Bits!
...(if you have my sense of humour ^_~ )

- The name of the tavern in issue 1 (well I can't tell you now...you'll have to check it out)
- The forest of L'argtre'eaz
- A detour on the heroes' trek south to go and see the world's largest ball of twine (well they are catgirls!). Plus, there was a very large ball of twine featured in the PC game 'Sam n Max Hit the Road'…
- A dragon who says 'roar, roar I say!'
- The world's cutest dragon in issue 2 ^_^
